Part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade

 

Funded by both the Australian and New South Wales Governments, the Bridge over Clarence River at Harwood is a part of the $4.6 billion Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade.

As part of the Acciona Ferrovial Joint Venture, Acciona Infrastructure has been engaged to design and build this 1.5km bridge featuring 13 piers over the river, 144 concrete girders, and 23 piers on land.

The main goals for this project are to reduce travel time, improve road safety, and increase transport efficiency.

Hawthorne Civil Component

  • Formwork and concrete crews assisted in the construction of collumns and headstocks on the marine section of this project
  • Works were constructed from two barges positioned on the Clarence River
