Project Update - Douglas Water Treatment Plant

12 October 2022

Hawthorne Civil has now completed the final pour on the Lamella Clarifiers which allows for the Hydrotesting of both tanks and further mechanical installation. In an ongoing partnership with BMD Constructions, Hawthorne Civil has delivered the concrete works package for Townsville’s Douglas Water Treatment Plant for Townsville City Council. In a program of works that will see the plant upgraded, Hawthorne Civil has supported BMD in the delivery two new lamella clarifiers that will enhance water treatment capacity during tropical weather events.

“Without Sharon, we would not be where we are today, it is as simple as that,” said Enda O’Brien. “Sharon is an absolute legend who has been a major part of our success. She basically runs everything that goes on behind the scenes at Hawthorne Civil, allowing our team to get on with what they do best. As she celebrates two years with us, I’d like to thank her for everything that she does and will continue to do as part of our team. Thank you Sharon.”

Department of Transport and Main Roads Pre-Qualification Achieved

Hawthorne Civil is delighted to announce that we have attained full pre-qualification with the Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland for Civil (Bridge) Construction Contracts. Based on a contractor's technical and managerial expertise, financial capacity, and previous performance, pre-qualification to The National Prequalification System for Civil (Bridge) Construction Contracts classifies contractors who wish to tender for bridge construction contracts.
